PvP Academy

Curriculum

PvP fundamentals to mentor opportunities.

The Academy teaches PvP fundamentals through controlled duels first: combo pressure, neutral, advantage, defense, and recovery. Larger fights are covered later, but the main goal is helping players understand what is happening inside PvP.

Core concepts

What students learn to see inside a fight

Neutral

The phase where neither player has clear control. Students learn spacing, patience, and how to avoid forcing bad entries.

Advantage

The moment you have control. Students learn how to convert it into pressure instead of wasting the opportunity.

Disadvantage

The moment the opponent has control. Students learn to survive, reset, and avoid panic decisions.

Reset

The skill of leaving a bad situation and rebuilding the fight instead of feeding after one mistake.

Basic Academy

The 4-week foundation cycle

1

Week 1

Offense, 10s Combos, and Advantage Phase

Goal: Students learn how to recognize advantage in PvP and convert it into a simple pressure window.

Practical drills

  • Build a reliable 10-second combo
  • Practice opener → pressure → reset
  • Identify when advantage starts and when it ends

Expected outcome: The student can explain what they are trying to do after landing their opener instead of pressing randomly.

2

Week 2

Defense, Neutral, and Disadvantage Phase

Goal: Students learn how to stop losing before trying to win again.

Practical drills

  • Disengage and reset drills
  • Panic-cooldown correction
  • Neutral spacing and patience practice

Expected outcome: The student survives longer and understands when to stop attacking, reset, and rebuild neutral.

3

Week 3

Practical PvP and Review

Goal: Students apply Week 1 and Week 2 under pressure with mentor feedback.

Practical drills

  • Controlled duel practice
  • Fights against different playstyles
  • Focus on weaknesses

Expected outcome: The student will focus on their weaknesses with their mentor and make a simple plan to improve it.

4

Week 4

GvG Awareness

Goal: Students learn how personal PvP fundamentals apply when fights become organized, crowded, or objective-focused.

Practical drills

  • Choke point positioning
  • Regroup after wipe and re-engage discipline
  • Basic target priority in organized fights

Expected outcome: The student understands positioning, regrouping, team awareness, and why target priority belongs in organized-fight contexts.

Graduation does not have to be the end.

Graduates can apply for the next stage or retake a stage if they want more practice. The goal is not to rush players forward — it is to help them become more confident and useful in real PvP.

Mentor expectation

Feedback should be calm, specific, and actionable. The Academy exists to remove toxicity from the learning process while still taking improvement seriously. Mentors should help students understand what happened in a fight, not shame them for losing it.
